Appalatch is named after the Appalachian Mountains. These ancient and majestic mountains empower the Appalatch approach to production and mirror their manufacturing values. Appalatch sweaters are made using 100% natural fibers. Animal fibers are suitable for many climates: Because of its inherent breathability and tendency to transport water vapor away from the body, wool is ideal in hot weather. In cold weather wool and alpaca are fantastic insulators and act as a heat sink, slowly providing the body with heat. Animal fibers such as wool have also been shown to resist bacteria growth and subsequently odor. Wool and alpaca fibers consists only of grass, water and sun. These natural fivers offer a truly recyclable and biodegradable material when their time has come to an end.
