Kapital takes its name from the city of Kojima, which has become known as the "Jean Capital" of Japan. Founded in 1984, the company originally focused exclusively on denim, borrowing heritage production techniques from vintage American workwear. Since opening its first store in 1995 in Kojima, the brand has expanded its vision to produce superior garments inspired by an array of international looks, fabrics and construction techniques.
