Robert Jungmaven, who began working with hemp textiles over a decade ago, launched Jungmaven in 2005. Many shirts from the collection are crafted using a slow process called batiking, which involves waxing each piece by hand. Based on the idea that commercial farming of hemp on a large-scale is central to steadying global climate, Jungmaven aims to outfit everyone in a hemp shirt by 2020.
